It's a relaxed but densely-populated local area within walking distance of everywhere downtown and close to the Skytrain to the airport. Talk the Skytrain, Vancouver's subway, from the airport into town. It'll get you downtown in half an hour, connects with all the city's other transit lines. Vancouver travel is complete without at least mentioning these: Stanley Park, Granville Island, Gastown, Canada Place, Capilano Suspension Bridge, Museum of Vancouver, Grouse Mountain and Science World.
