Nikolai Voropai is Professor, Scientific Advisor of Energy Systems Institute, Russian Academy of Sciences, Irkutsk, Russia. He graduated from Leningrad (St. Petersburg) Polytechnic Institute in 1966. N. Voropai received his Ph.D. degree from Leningrad Polytechnic Institute in 1974 and the degree of Doctor of Technical Sciences from the Siberian Energy Institute in 1990.He has been with Energy Systems Institute since 1996, during 1997-2016 as Director of the Institute. His research interests include modeling of power systems; operation, dynamics, and control of large power grids; development of national, international, and intercontinental power grids; reliability and security of energy systems; power industry restructuring. N. Voropai is IEEE Life Fellow (2020), member of CIGRE, IFAC, Editorial Boards of several Russian and international scientific journals, International Steering Committee of IEEE PowerTech Conference, International Program Committees of many International Conferences. He the Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal on Energy Systems Research. N. Voropaiis the author of more than 700 scientific publications.
Karl-Heinz Gresslehner was born on 27.03.1948 and completed his Ph.D. in the field of semiconductor physics in 1981 at the Johannes KeplerUniversity in Linz. He was working for more than 10 years in the industry (semiconductor industry, environmental protection at the state government Austria) and 24 years as a teacher at a school for higher technical education (HTL). Since 2016 he is a Professor at the University of Applied Sciences in Upper Austria and is the head of the research group Thermoelectricity.
Abdussamatov Habibullo Ismailovich: born October 27, 1940, in Samarkand. Education: Samarkand State University (1962), faculty of physics and mathematics; graduate courses in Leningrad State University (1965-1967); postgraduate course in Pulkovo Observatory of the RAS. Works in Pulkovo Observatory since 1964: researcher trainee, junior researcher, senior researcher, leading researcher, head of the Space Research laboratory. Now – head of the Space Research Sector of the Sun and head of the Lunar Observatory project on monitoring the climate and energy imbalance between the Earth and space. He is an independent expert in the area of solar physics and of solar-terrestrial physics as well as the climate. He is featured on page 140 of the 2009 U.S. Senate Report of More Than 700 Dissenting Scientists Over Man-Made Global Warming. The European Scientific-Industrial Chamber in 2013 awarded him with a gold medal and presented a DIPLOMA DI MERITO for a fundamental contribution to space research. He is the author of some 200 publications, including four monographs and the Book chapter “The New Little Ice Age has started”, also seven scientific patents.
Guoqian Chen, Professor of fluid dynamics and sustainability science in College of Engineering at Peking University, China, and Distinguished Adjunct Professor in the Center of Research Excellence in Renewable Energy and Power Systems at King Abdulaziz University, Saudi Arabia. He has a wide spectrum of research interests including climate thermodynamics, computational fluid dynamics, heat and mass transfer, renewable energy and resources, systems ecological modeling, ecological economics, global and regional sustainability studies. With distinguished contributions as marked by around 300 publications in prestigious journals, Prof. Chen has won a series of awards and honors, including the Elsevier Atlas Award, Thomson Reuters Highly Cited Researchers Award, Thomson Reuters China Citation Laureate. He served as editor, associate editor, or advisory member for 50 international journals.
Dr. Ok is a full professor at and global research director of Korea University in Seoul, Korea. His academic background covers waste management, the bioavailability of emerging contaminants, and bioenergy, and value-added products (such as biochar). Professor Ok also has experience in fundamental soil science and the remediation of various contaminants in soils and sediments. Together with graduate students and colleagues, Professor Ok has published over 600 research papers, 85 of which have been ranked as Web of Science ESI top papers (78 nominated as “highly cited papers” [HCPs] and 7 nominated as “hot papers”) since 2009. He has been a Web of Science Highly Cited Researcher (HCR) since 2018. In 2019, he became the first Korean to be selected as an HCR in the field of Environment and Ecology. He maintains a worldwide professional network through his service as an Editor (former Co-Editor) of the Critical Reviews in Environmental Science and Technology, and Editor of the Environmental Pollution, and as a member of the editorial boards of Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews, Chemical Engineering Journal, Chemosphere, and Journal of Analytical and Applied Pyrolysis, along with several other top journals. Professor Ok has served in a number of positions worldwide including an honorary professor at the University of Queensland (Australia), visiting professor at Tsinghua University (China), adjunct professor at the University of Wuppertal (Germany), and guest professor at Ghent University (Belgium). He currently serves as Director of the Sustainable Waste Management Program for the Association of Pacific Rim Universities (APRU). He has served as chairman of numerous major conferences such as Engineering Sustainable Development 2019, organized by the APRU and the Institute for Sustainability of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE).
Mert Gülüm received the Bachelor of Science, Master, and Ph.D. degrees in mechanical engineering from Karadeniz Technical University (Turkey) in 2010, 2014, and 2020, respectively. His research interests include; alternative energy sources, alternative fuels, fuel properties, viscosity, internal combustion engines, diesel spray, biodiesel production, combustion, computational fluid dynamics, and prediction models. He has been elected as a scientific or organizing committee member of many international conferences. He has served as a scientific reviewer for several journals. He has attended many international and national congress as a speaker. Currently, he has authored and co-authored many papers (over 20) and seven book chapters on Energy topics in refereed international publishing houses and journals.
Jung-Chang Wang (J.C. Wang) is a full Professor and Dean in the School of Marine Engineering (D.M.E.), National Taiwan Ocean University (NTOU), Keelung, Taiwan, and is also the Director of the Thermal-Fluid Illumination Laboratory. He received his Bachelor and Master degrees from National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) and Mechanical Ph.D. from National Taiwan University (NTU) in Taiwan in 2007. He has been teaching and researching electronic heat transfer and renewable energy for more than ten years. He has published more than 100 research papers in international journals, conferences, and patents, and edited five book chapters. His main research interest includes applied and software engineering
Nevenka R. Elezovic completed her Ph.D. in 2005, from the University of Belgrade. She is currently Research Professor at the Institute for Multidisciplinary Research, University of Belgrade. Her research interests include Nanostructured materials and alloys for low-temperature fuel cells and water electrolysis applications - green energy production. Since 2013 she is served as representative of Serbia and a member of the European board in the European Academy of Surface Technology. She has published more than 40 papers in reputed journals of eminent Publishers such as Elsevier, Royal Society of Chemistry, The Electrochemical Society. She has been serving as a reviewer for: Energy and Environmental Science, Applied Materials and Interfaces, Journal of Materials Chemistry A, Electrochimica Acta, Applied Catalysis B: Environmental, RSC Advances, PCCP, Chemical Communications, Journal of the Electrochemical Society, International Journal of Hydrogen Energy, as well as an adjudicative (senior) reviewer for Journal of Materials Chemistry A and Physical Chemistry Chemical Physics.
Professor Dr. Ahmad Zuhairi Abdullah is currently an academic member of the School of Chemical Engineering, Universiti Sains Malaysia. He received his B. Tech (Hons), MSc and PhD in 1995, 2000 and 2004, respectively. His research works mostly encompass the synthesis of novel functionalized nanoporous materials as ordered catalysts in catalysis, oleochemical reactions, agricultural waste treatments, and the production of renewable energy sources from vegetable oils. He is the recipient of several innovation and publication awards based on his research works. He has been involved in the dissemination of science and technology through more than 250 refereed publications in journals and book/book chapters mainly as the main author, and also involves as a technical committee member to nearly 100 international scientific conferences held across the globe. He is often invited to share his research experiences in international conferences held in Malaysia, Laos, Indonesia, Vietnam, and China. In addition, he is an evaluator to research proposals received from the university, local ministries as well as several international scientific associations in the USA, Oman, Qatar, and Chile. He is one of the recipients of the Top Research Scientists Malaysia (TRSM) award in 2014. His h-index (Scopus) currently stands at 50 with more than 8,000 citations.
Professor Fushuan Wen received the B.E. and M.E. degrees from Tianjin University, Tianjin, China, in 1985 and 1988, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree from Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China, in 1991, all in electrical engineering. He joined the faculty of Zhejiang University in 1991, and has been a full professor and the director of the Institute of Power Economics and Information since 1997, and the director of Zhejiang University-Insigma Joint Research Center for Smart Grids since 2010. He is a professor in energy systems in Tallinn University of Technology. He was Chief Scientist at Enjoyor Inc., Hangzhou, China from 2012 to 2014. He was on the research staff at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Concordia University, Montreal, Canada from 2001 to 2010. Prior to 2001, he was on technical staff with Huawei Technologies, China Academy of Telecommunication Technology, and Chinese University of Hong Kong. Daniele De Wrachien has currently Retired Professor of Agricultural Hydraulics at the Department of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences of the State University of Milan and Member of the Board of Director of the Wessex Institute of Technology (WIT), Southampton, UK. He graduated from the State University of Milan as a geologist and obtained his PhD in Advanced Engineering Geology. He performed his duties as, Director of the Institute of Agricultural Hydraulics (2000-2006), Director of Computer Centre of the Faculty of Agriculture,(1992-95), Tutor of MPhil and PhD students of the Faculty of Agriculture, External Examiner to MPhil and PhD students, Visiting Professor at the Wessex Institute of Technology ( WIT ). Dr. Bin Ma is a research faculty in the Department of Electric and Computer Engineering, University of Minnesota (Twins cities campus). Dr. Ma has a Ph. D. in Physics and strong expertise in materials, device development, and characterization. His research includes the Fe16N2-based rare-earth-free permanent magnets, L10-FePt based magnetic exchange coupled composite recording media, rare-earth transition metal magneto-optical amorphous films, and MTJ based spintronics devices. Dr. Ma has been PI/Co-PI of several NSF, NSFC, and other funded projects.
