Prof. Darek Ceglarek is EPSRC Star Recruit Research Chair at WMG, University of Warwick, and a CIRP Fellow. Previously, he was Professor in Industrial and Systems Engineering at University of Wisconsin, Madison. He received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from University of Michigan-Ann Arbor in 1994. His research focusses on smart manufacturing, closed-loop quality control; application of data mining/AI for root cause analysis across design, manufacturing and service. His research has created impact on digital manufacturing technologies, predictive modelling in automotive assembly systems and quality control. He has been PI/co-PI on research grants of over £30M funded by: US (NSF, NIST); UK (EPSRC, InnovateUK, APC and HVM Catapult); and EU (FP7, Marie Curie) and industry (more than 30 OEMs and SMEs). He has published over 180 papers, received several Best Paper Awards; and is listed by Stanford University among Top 2% of the world’s leading scientists and among Top-1.1% within subfield ‘Industrial Engineering and Automation’. He has received numerous awards including the 2018 Jaguar LandRover’s (JLR) ‘Innovista’ Award for the WMG-JLR collaborative project ‘Laser Welded Lightweight Aluminium Door for SUV’ as the most innovative project in category of ‘piloted technologies’ (selected out of 75 entries); his EU Factory-of-the-Future RLW Navigator programme was selected as a success story by the EC in 2015; 2007 UK EPSRC Star Award given to ‘exceptional senior faculty, recognised international leader in his research field’, US NSF 2003 CAREER Award (NSF's ‘most prestigious awards in support of junior faculty’); 1999 Outstanding Research Scientist Award from University of Michigan; the 1998 Dell K. Allen Outstanding Young Manufacturing Engineer of the Year Award from the SME. He has served on numerous Editorial Boards and is an Associate Editor (Europe) of the ASTM Smart and Sustainable Manufacturing Systems Journal. Prof. Ceglarek served as Chair of the Quality, Statistics and Reliability Section of INFORMS; Program Chair for the ASME Design-for-Manufacturing Life Cycle Conferences, Assoc Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Automation Science and Engineering, and of the ASME Trans, Journal of Manufacturing Science & Engineering.
Dr. Alexander L. Kalamkarov is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the Dalhousie University in Halifax, Canada since 1993, and Director of Smart Materials Centre since 1995. He was awarded PhD degree from the Moscow Lomonosov State University in 1979 and the Doctor of Sciences (Habilitation) from the Academy of Sciences of the USSR in 1990. His academic career spans over 42 years in Research and University teaching. He has taught in the Universities in the USA, England, France, Australia, Japan, Brazil and visited numerous Universities and Research Institutes around the world. Prof. Kalamkarov is awarded the CANCAM Gold Medal for the “outstanding contribution in the area of Applied Mechanics” in 2011. He is awarded the Fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) in 2002; the Fellow of the Canadian Society for Mechanical Engineering (CSME) in 2001; and the Fellow of the Japan Society for Promotion of Science (JSPS) in 2007. Prof. Kalamkarov is a Member of numerous prestigious International Editorial and Advisory boards and the International Conference Organizing Committees in the area of advanced composite materials and smart structures. Research performed by Prof. Kalamkarov in the areas of advanced composite materials and smart materials and structures is internationally recognized. He has authored more than 350 research publications, including over 160 refereed journal papers, 8 Research Monographs and 2 US patents. Prof. Kalamkarov has made major contribution to the fundamental analysis, design and optimization of composite materials and smart composite structures, composite reinforced shells and plates.
Dr. T. Tashtoush is an Assistant Professor of Engineering in Texas A&M International University (TAMIU), Laredo, TX. He got his Ph.D. and M.S. degrees in Systems and Industrial Engineering from State University of New York at Binghamton on 2013 and 2009, respectively and his B.S. in Electromechanical (Mechatronics) Engineering from Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST), Irbid, Jordan on 2005. Currently, he is the faculty advisor and team lead for robotics and intelligent systems team and the Students Engineering Council in TAMIU. In addition, Dr. Tashtoush is the West Officer for the Corpus Christi Section of IEEE and the advisor and facilitator for the Youth Science Leader of Laredo organization. Throughout his working experience and formal education in multidiscipline of engineering, he acquired a sound knowledge and experience of leading edge engineering principles, tools and practices in the field of simulation and systems design, production quality and management, lean manufacturing principles, robotics and automation, 3D printing processes, engineering statistical analysis, project management, optimization, instruments and electrical devices, reliability, Healthcare Systems, and Human Factors. Dr. T. Tashtoush is Lean Six-Sigma Black Belt certified, he worked at Continental Automation Systems where he implemented Lean manufacturing and Six-Sigma principles, machine production control, preventive maintenance scheduling, and quality monitoring to reduce non-added value actions and increase productivity and the production lines’ throughput.
Prof. Dr. Hari Mohan Srivastava was born on 05 July 1940 in Karon (District Ballia) in the Province of Uttar Pradesh in India. Professor Hari Mohan Srivastava began his university-level teaching career right after having received his M.Sc. degree in 1959 at the age of 19 years. He earned his Ph.D. degree in 1965 while he was a full-time member of the teaching faculty at the Jai Narain Vyas University of Jodhpur in India (since 1963). Currently, Professor Srivastava holds the position of Professor Emeritus in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Victoria in Canada, having joined the faculty there in 1969, first as Associate Professor (1969-1974) and then as Full Professor (1974-2006). Professor Srivastava has held (and continues to hold) numerous Visiting and Chair Professorships at many universities and research institutes in many different parts of the world. Having received several D.Sc. (honoris causa) degrees as well as honorary memberships and fellowships of many scientific academies and scientific societies around the world, he is also actively associated editorially with numerous international scientific research journals as an Honorary or Advisory Editor or as an Editorial Board Member. Dr. Yongsheng Ma is a full professor at the University of Alberta (UA) where he joined since 2007. Dr. Ma is also a member of ASEE, SME, SPE, CSME and an Alberta registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.). His main research areas include engineering informatics for design and manufacturing, CADCAM, and product lifecycle management. He has been teaching a number of courses including mechanical engineering design, manufacturing systems, engineering informatics, and engineering management. Dr. Ma received his B.Eng. from Tsinghua University, Beijing (1986), both M.Sc. (1990) and Ph.D. (1994) from UMIST, UK. He was an associate professor with Nanyang Technological University, Singapore during 2000-2007. Dr. Ma started his career as a polytechnic lecturer in Singapore (1993-1996); and then a research fellow, senior research fellow and group manager (1996-2000) at Singapore Institute of Manufacturing Technology. Dr. Ma has had an established research profile with many research projects from different sources, and published more than 200 internationally recognized top journal and conference papers, and book chapters. Dr. Ma had been an associate editor of IEEE Transaction of Automation Science and Engineering (2009-2013). In 2012, he won the prestigious ASTech award sponsored by The Alberta Science and Technology Leadership Foundation together with Drader Manufacturing Ltd. Dr. Ma had also served as a senator of UA during 2014-2016. He has been serving as an Editorial Board Member of Advanced Engineering Informatics published by Elsevier since 2012, and became an associate editor since 2020. Concurrently, he also serves as an associate editor and a topic editor for Frontiers in Mechanical Engineering - Digital Manufacturing.

Prof. Vladimir G. Chigrinov is Professor of Hong Kong University of Science and Technology since 1999. He is an Expert in Flat Panel Technology in Russia, recognized by the World Technology Evaluation Centre, 1994, and SID Fellow since 2008. He is an author of 6 books, 25 reviews and book chapters, about 280 journal papers, more than 600 Conference presentations, and 110 patents and patent applications including 27 US patents in the field of liquid crystals since 1974.He got Excellent Research Awards of HKUST School of Engineering In 2012. He obtained Gold Medal and The Best Award in the Inventions & Innovations Awards 2014 held at the Malaysia Technology Expo(MTE)2014,which was hosted in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on Feb 20-22,2014.
Dr. Piotr Kulczycki currently holds the professor positions at the Systems Research Institute of the Polish Academy of Sciences, where he is the head of the Centre of Information Technology for Data Analysis Methods, as well as the AGH University of Science and Technology, Faculty of Physics and Applied Computer Science, where he is the head of the Division for Information Technology and Systems Research. He has also held the position of visiting professor at the Aalborg University, and closely cooperated with the Technical University of Budapest, the Helsinki University of Technology, the UniversiteCatholique de Louvain, and the Tampere University of Technology. Professor Piotr Kulczycki has published 11 books and more than 200 scientific works in reputable journals, edited volumes, and international conference proceedings. The field of his scientific activity to date is the applicational aspects of information technology and data analysis and mining, mostly connected with the use of modern statistical methods and fuzzy logic in diverse issues of contemporary systems research and control engineering.
Prof. Dr. Ionel Staretu: graduated the Faculty of TCM (Technology of Mechanical Constructions) of Transilvania University of Brasov (1983). He won the title of Doctor in Engineering, with specialization in Industrial Robots - Robotics, in 1995. Specializations: in Tribology (Transilvania University -1990), in Robotics and Productics (the INSTN Saclay, France-1992/1993), Organization Management (Transilvania University and IAI-1999 / 2000), Quality Management (2003), Quality Audit (2004) at Transilvania University. Since 2003, he is an Extrajudicial Technical Expert and Consultant certified by CERTEXPERT Bucharest and AEXEA Paris and Expert CNCSIS and ARACIS. He has been working since 1985 to the Department of Product Design and Robotics at Transilvania University of Brasov. He published 5 books(one in USA: Gripping Systems, Derc Publishing House, 2011), 5 didactic papers, and more than 225 scientific articles in the country and abroad (SUA, Italy, France, Germany, Hungary, Turkey, Tunisia, Czech Republic, Slovenia, Japan, India, China, etc.). He is the author or co-author of 11 patents of invention. He helped to resolve more than 26 scientific research grants, both national and international (for 4 of them as project director). He is the president of the Brasov branch of the Robotic Society of Romania, vice president of the branch AGIR-The General Association of the Engineers in Romania Brasov and member in National Committee AGIR , ARoTMM member, and expert in Robotics at the Academic Society in Romania, and CRIFST (Romanian Committee for History and Philosophy of the Science and Technique - Romanian Academy) member . He is certified EUR ING by FEANI – European Federation of National Engineering Associations, in 2008. He is member in Editorial Board of the Journal of Mechanics Engineering and Automation-USA, Military Technical Courier-Serbia, Annals of Dunarea de Jos University of Galati - Fascicle XIV-Mechanical Engineering, TEHNOMUS Journal(Stefan cel Mare University of Suceava) and AGIR Bulletin-Romania. Gheorghe-Daniel Andreescu was born in Caracal, Olt, Romania. He received the M.Sc. degree in applied electronics and the PhD degree in automatic control systems from the University Politehnica Timisoara (UPT), Timisoara, Romania, in 1977 and 1999, respectively. Since 1984, he has been with the Automation and Applied Informatics Department of UPT, where he is currently a Full Professor and PhD advisor in Automation (System engineering). Prof. Andreescu was Director of the Doctoral School of Engineering Studies of UPT (2012-2017), and was manager of 4 UPT strategic grants for doctoral scholarships with European structural funds in the POSDRU Romanian program, 2007-2013. His main research areas include: advanced control of ac drives, sensorless control, observers, sliding-mode control, power electronics control, renewable energy, green-house climate control systems, drum-boiler control systems in thermal power plants, control of mechatronic systems, modelling and analyses of hearing with cochlear implants - auralization, real-time implementations. He is the author or coauthor of more than 90 papers published in international journals and conference proceedings, 18 in journals indexed in ISI Web of Science (WoS) with WoS total impact factor/2018 of 70, average value of 3.9. He has more than 1800 citations in indexed journals and conference proceedings, more than 1000 in WoS with total journal impact factor > 2000, average value of 4.3, and Hirsch WoS factor of 14, citations including authors from 155 universities (31%) from Top 500 World Universities/2019. He is a reviewer of 25 scientific journals indexed in Web of Science. Prof. Andreescu is a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) since 2005, member of the International Federation of Automatic Control IFAC Technical Committee TC4.2 Mechatronics Systems since 2003, and of the IFAC Technical Committee TC 8.1 Control in Agriculture (2016-2018). He is a member of the Commission of Computers, Information Technology and System Engineering of the National Council for Attesting University Titles, Diplomas and Certificates (CNATDCU) since 2017, and was member of the Commission of Engineering Sciences of the National University Research Council (CNCSIS), Romania. Prof. Andreescu is a recipient of the “Tudor Tanasescu” Award of the Romanian Academy for Advanced automation in 2016.
