She has 18 years of regional and international experience in managing and executing regional public health surveillance and response programs; with robust leadership, multidisciplinary technical expertise (epidemiology, microbiology, food safety, environmental health), health diplomacy, communications, implementation, capacity building, resource mobilization, She has a Ph.D. (with high commendation), MSc (Distinction) and a BSc (Honors). Dr. Indar is the Director of Surveillance Diseases Prevention and Control Division at Carpa, responsible for directing, coordinating, and managing public health surveillance and response activities related to conditions of regional and international importance. Dr. Vincent Covello is the founder and Director of the Center for Risk Communication, and a global expert and practitioner on risk, high stress, and crisis communications. He is the author and co-author of more than 150 articles in scientific journals and the author/editor of more than 20 books. Dr. Covello has worked with over 500 private and public organizations, including the World Health Organization, the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials, and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. His work has been applied nationally and globally to a wide range of topics, including disease outbreaks, industrial accidents, water contamination, air pollution, food safety, climate change, physician-patient communications, radiological events, and organizational change. He also worked with the 50 U.S. State Health Directors on their responses to questions from the media and the public on COVID-19. Dr. Covello has received many awards for his work and has held numerous positions, including Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine and Environmental Sciences at the Columbia University School of Public Health, a program manager at the National Science Foundation, a study director at the National Academy of Sciences, and President of the Society for Risk Analysis. Dr. Covello received his BA with honors and MA from Cambridge University in England and his doctorate from Columbia University in New York. Dr Dorit Nitzan is the Regional Emergency Director for the World Health Organization (WHO) European Region. She joined the WHO in 2005 as the Public Health Services Manager in the South-eastern Europe Health Network, and the Head of Office and WHO Representative in Serbia (including Montenegro at that time). The team led by her received the 21st Century Award by the United Nations Secretary General for the special work done with and for the Roma people. From 2012 to 2016, Dorit served as the WHO Representative in Ukraine. She led the WHO and the Health Cluster humanitarian operations and the polio outbreak response in the country. For the work done, the team led by her received the WHO Director General Reward of Excellence for exceptional contribution to the Organization in 2015. In her current capacity Dorit leads the WHO emergency prevention, preparedness, response and recovery strategies, operations and monitoring and evaluation in the European Region (covering 53 Member States). More specifically, the Incident Management Team (IMST) and WHO Health Emergency (WHE) are assisting countries to plan and prepare for, respond to and recover from the COVID-19 pandemic. This incudes regional and national support to: 1. Coordination, planning, financing and monitoring; 2. Risk communicati0on, community engagement and infodemic management; 3. Surveillance, epidemiological investigation, contact tracing, and adjustment of public health and social measures; 4. Points of entry, international travel and transport, and mass gatherings; 5. Laboratories and diagnostics; 6. Infection prevention and control, and protection of the health workforce; 7. Case management, clinical operations, and therapeutics; 8. Operational support and logistics, and supply chains; 9. Maintaining essential health services and systems; and 10. She covered the areas of nutrition, food safety, public health and emergency response as a consultant in China, Republic of Moldova and the Russian Federation. She led health sector activities in disaster preparedness and response missions to Africa and served the search, rescue and victims identification operations response to the 2004 tsunami in Thailand. Dorit is a pediatrician. She graduated from the Tel Aviv University, Sackler School of Medicine, Israel and completed her medical internship in Sapir Medical Center in Kfar-Saba Israel. She completed her three years pediatric residency in Morristown Medical Center, New Jersey, USA following by three years of fellowship in Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition in Babies Hospital, Columbia University in New York. During the last two years of her fellowship she also graduated from the Columbia University Mailman School of Public health, and she holds n MPH in Epidemiology and Biostatistics. Prior to medicine Dorit graduated from the Hebrew University as a clinical dietitian. She continued working as a dietitian through her medical studies in Israel.

She awarded a doctoral scholarship from Belgian Technical Cooperation (BTC). Her Ph.D. study was part of the National Study of the Palestinian Health Behaviors in School-aged Children (HBSC-2004). Dr. Al Sabbah is regularly invited to both national and international conferences, courses, and research studies all over the world, including Europe, USA, Canada, West Africa, and some Arab countries. He successively works as a clinician and medical public health physician in the rural Hospital, the Health zone district, and the Epicentreepidémiological project in the Department of Diseases Control of the Ministry of Health of the Democratic Republic of Congo. He was an associate epidemiologist of Epicentre in a project to support epidemiological surveillance and outbreak response in DRC. He was a deputy coordinator of the emergency program of MSF Belgium (“PUC”) for five western provinces of Congo. He has led several cholera outbreak investigations through the Democratic Republic of Congo, Haiti, Niger, and Guinea Conakry. Didier Bompangue holds a Diploma Study’sspecialized in Public Health. He started an academic career in 2004 with a master in Public Health (Belgium- UniversitéLibre de Bruxelles, 2005), master in Ecology and Health in University of Franche-Comté, Besançon, France (2006), where he had gotten his Ph.D. (2009) in Ecoepidemiology (applied to the understanding of the dynamic of cholera outbreaks in the African Great Lake Region). After his Ph.D., he was invited as an invited researcher in the Global Health Department of the Public Health School of Harvard University (in 2011). Actually, Dr. Didier Bompangue is an associate professor and the chief of the Research and Training Unit of Ecology and Control of Infectious Diseases located in the Faculty of Medicine of Kinshasa University (DRCongo) (http://www.ecodiseases.net/). He is an associate researcher in the Chrono-Environment Laboratory, the CNRS 6249 Unit of the Franche-Comté University (Besançon, France). His main topic of research is the dynamic of the cholera epidemic in Africa, working to provide new knowledge and a better understanding of the cholera epidemic to adjust the operational strategies. His main operational hypothesis is that elimination of cholera as a public health problem in Africa is possible by targeting the sanctuary areas where all cholera epidemics started. As part of the follow-up of the students of the Master of Ecology of infectious diseases of which he is the program manager, he is in charge of the follow-up of several research works on the ecology of infectious diseases. The main ongoing projects carried out with several international collaborations relate to cholera, monkeypox, meningitis, measles, human African trypanosomiasis, plague, ebola virus disease.
Dr. Nepal C Dey has earned his Ph.D. from the Tottori University, Japan, a Professor in Water, Environment and Health of BRAC University. During his long research career, to contribute to national and international policy and strategies through attaining the relevant targets of MDGs and SDGs, he has received a number of competitive research grants ($1.0m) and took the lead in conducting a lot of research (>50 nos.) for numerous organizations in collaboration with national, international and academic institutions including Ministry of Science and Technology, Bangladesh, Ministry of Food, Bangladesh, International Water Management Institute (IWMI), International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), UN Women, UN Foundation, UNDP, Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations, USAID, and EU, AusAID, and DFID. Prof. Nepal has published over 60 articles, where half of them were published in Scholarly Journals (Q1) including “Lancet Global Health”. He has joined numerous Int’l. Conferences/Symposium held in many countries as Invited Speaker, Chairing/Co-Chairing various technical sessions, and presented more than 50 papers. He is an editorial board member and reviewer of many Journals with repute. He has been serving as an Expert Member for Annual Ag. Eng. Research Review of NARS, Ministry of Agriculture, and R&D Thematic Group on Water Supply and Sanitation for the Policy Support Unit of Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) of Govt. of Bangladesh since 2012. Professor Nepal has supervised both national and international students’ Master’s thesis (>20) and Ph.D. students including Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology and George Washington University. He has been working as an External Member of Ph.D. Evaluation Committee in the Institute of Water and Flood Management of BUET since 2017.
