Biography
Danielle Riverin-Simard, Ph.D., is professor emeritus at Université Laval (Canada) and editorial member of many scientific journals. From 1989 to 1992, she was the founding scientific director of the Centre for Research in Career Development, and, from 1995 to 1998, a Council member of the Social Sciences and Humanities Council of Canada. She has contributed significantly to the field of adult vocational education and of career transitions, development and management, through the publication of books (Phases of Working lives; Careers and social classes; Career Transitions: choices and strategies; Work and Personality; Key roles in the revolution of work) and of more than 150 articles in peer review. Danielle Riverin-Simard’s work, well-known in Quebec, Canada and internationaly, has received many prestigious rewards. She continues her research in this area by working with senior business executives, public managers and career practitioners to improve the lifelong learning and the lives of workers in the knowledge economy.

Dr. Haleama Al Sabbah is an Associate Professor and Chair of the Health Sciences Department at Zayed University in UAE. She completed her Ph.D. in Public Health Nutrition (Ph.D. in Medical Sciences) in 2008 from the Faculty of Medicine, Gent University, Belgium. She awarded a doctoral scholarship from Belgian Technical Cooperation (BTC). Her Ph.D. study was part of the National Study of the Palestinian Health Behaviors in School-aged Children (HBSC-2004). Dr. Al Sabbah was a Fulbright Senior Visiting Scholar and did Post-Doctoral studies in Public Health and Nutrition at Jean Mayer Human Nutrition Center, Tufts University, Boston, USA from 2011 to 2012. She served as the director of the Public Health Department, Faculty of Medicine, An-Najah University, Palestine from 2009 to 2013. Dr. Al Sabbah has published numerous articles in scientific journals and served as an editorial board member and reviewer for several peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Al Sabbah is regularly invited to both national and international conferences, courses, and research studies all over the world, including Europe, USA, Canada, West Africa, and some Arab countries. Dr. Al Sabbah's first degree is Public Health Nutrition from the Faculty of Medicine/ Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST) in 1990. She worked as a nutritionist in a number of hospitals in Amman, Jordan, and then at Amman University. From 1995 to 1998, she worked at the Red Crescent Society Maternity Hospital in Ramallah. In 1997, awarded a scholarship for postgraduate masters-level study in Public Health at the Community Health Institute, Birzeit University, Palestine. In 1998, awarded a scholarship for a Master of Philosophy in International Community Health and Nutrition in the Faculty of Medicine at Oslo University, Norway. Her Master’s thesis title was “Diabetes Self-Management in Rural Palestinian Community”.

Mustafa ‘Mike’ Z Younis is an internationally recognized scholar at Jackson State University, Mississippi, USA. Dr. Younis served as a member of the Executive Committee of the International Society for Research of Healthcare Financial Management. Dr. Younis has authored and published over 200 articles, abstracts, and presentations in refereed journals and meetings, and has presented at national and international conferences. Dr. Younis’ coauthored articles appeared in leading journals such as “Nature” “The Lancet” and “JAMA” and European Journal of Health Economics. Dr. Younis has administrative experience as Chair of the Department of Health Policy and Management at Florida International University (FL, USA), where he led the accreditation efforts for the Healthcare Management Program & Senior Advisor to the President of Zirve University. Dr. Younis has a history of playing visible roles on the editorial boards of journals as Chief Editor, Guest Editor, and Editorial board member of leading journals, such as JHCF, Inquiry, JHHSA, JPBAFM Dr. Younis is a frequent speaker for both academic and professional audiences. Dr.SupatChupradit is an Assistant Professor in Occupational Therapy at the Department of Occupational Therapy at the Faculty of Associated Medical Sciences, Chiang Mai University. He graduated bachelor's degree in occupational therapy and a master's degree in health promotion with honors and a Ph.D. in research and development in education. He got a certificate in Young Leader Training from Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Japan. He got University 21st Century Skills Teaching Awards 2018 and CMU Online Teaching Awards 2019 by Thai-MOOC Massive Online Open Course “Stress Management Techniques” from Chiang Mai University. His experience involves health promotion and community development with occupational therapy programs for children, youth, and adolescents in rural areas in northern Thailand. Adenrele Awotona earned his Ph.D. from the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom and a certificate from Harvard University’s Institute of Management and Leadership in Education. He is a professor of Urban Planning and Community Studies, the founder and Director of the Center for Rebuilding Sustainable Communities after Disasters, and a former Dean of the College of Public and Community Service at the University of Massachusetts, Boston, USA. He was previously a Director of Studies for the British Council International Seminars (“Reconstruction after disasters”) in the United Kingdom where he has also served at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne as a Director of Graduate Studies in architecture and urban design. He has organized major international conferences (on Afghanistan, China, Haiti, Indonesia, Iraq, Japan, etc.) Similarly, he has hosted a workshop for the U.S. Department of State (with participants from Brazil, Chile, Uruguay, Argentina, and Paraguay) and co-organized a presentation on New Zealand. Professor Awotona has been a principal investigator on major research projects funded by various agencies including the U.S. Department of Energy, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the U.S. Department of Education, and the British Government Department for International Development. A stream of publications has, therefore, emanated from both his research and consultancy services. Similarly, through research, consultancy, and teaching, he has professional experience in many countries of Europe, Africa, Asia, the Middle East, The Americas, and the Caribbean. Dr. Farid Menaa is an inter-and multi-disciplinary professional with a worldwide reputation. He has three international post-doctoral terms in Oncology, Dermatology, and Hematology; MBA Entrepreneurship and MD candidate. During his ongoing career, he has mainly contributed to the identification and functions of new human disease-causing genes and variants, formulated natural products for anti-aging, and developed innovative theranostic strategies against cancers, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, obesity, and infectious diseases. He has more than 10 years’ experience either in the academic, hospitals, or industrial sectors. As Chief Scientific Officer and Vice-President R&D at Fluorotronics, Inc. he actively participated in the development of the disruptive “Carbon-Fluorine Spectroscopy”. Dr. Menaa collaborates with various organizations worldwide. Dr. Divyanshu ‘Divy’ Dua is a consultant medical oncologist and Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP). Dr. Dua trained in Internal medicine and Medical oncology in Australia as part of FRACP before completing a clinical fellowship in drug development, early phase trials, and thoracic malignancies at the Guy’s Hospital, London (UK), and the Sarah Cannon Research Institute (UK). Thoracic malignancies – including lung cancer, mesothelioma, and thymoma – continue to be of special clinical interest to Dr. Dua. He also has a particular interest in the treatment of Genitourinary malignancies – especially prostate cancer, malignant melanoma, CNS tumors, and breast cancer. Dr. Dua has also been involved in geriatric oncology services as part of his role as a medical oncologist. He has been running the multidisciplinary clinic in Canberra for the past 4 years. Dr. Dua has published several articles in peer-reviewed international journals. He is actively involved in teaching and research through his current affiliation with the Australian National University, Canberra. Past academic affiliations include the University of Adelaide, Flinders University, Monash Rural school of Medicine in Australia, and King’s College London. He is also active in the training of the physician training program.

Vishal Bhalla joined Parkland in August 2016 and soon moved into the role of Vice President and Chief Experience Officer (CXO), focusing on the experience of employees, providers, patients, and their families. Transitioning to healthcare a few years ago from a successful career in hospitality, Vishal completed his Master of Business Administration from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) along with a Healthcare Certificate from the joint Harvard-MIT Healthcare Innovation Initiative. Vishal also serves on the Dallas Fort Worth Hospital Council, representing Parkland as the Chair for the Workforce Collaborative, and is a member of the Texas Hospital Association (THA) Fellows Program for 2019. Vishal is passionate about leveraging analytics, technology, and system sciences, along with his extensive experience in managing large service operations, to add rigor to the art of human interaction; thereby enabling meaningful employee and patient experiences. The Experience Team at Parkland has seen tremendous results, achieving the 90th Percentile rank in the National Press Ganey Database and the 93rd Percentile Rank in the University Health Systems. The strategy and its execution were cited in the 2019 whitepaper on Strategic Initiatives by Press Ganey: Accelerated Transformation – From Strategy to Action. Prior to coming to Parkland, Mr. Bhalla was the Director of Operations for a hospitality firm, where he oversaw twelve facilities with more than 6000 rooms. Dr. Singhal is a neonatologist who trained at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Delhi in India and did her fellowship in Canada. Her clinical work is with sick newborn babies. Her research interests are Resuscitation of the newborn, delayed cord clamping and implementation of newborn programs in resource-limited areas, and quality improvement. Educationally she has helped develop simple training programs for stabilization of the sick newborn and contributed to the Newborn Resuscitation Program. In Canada, she has been part of the group for EPIQ (Evidence-based Practice for Improving Quality) that has helped decrease newborn mortality and morbidity across the country. For the past 25 years, she has been involved in Global Child Health. Her work has involved contributing to the development of ‘Helping Babies Breathe,’ a program for education in low resource settings, Essential Care for Every Baby and Essential Care of Small baby. She was part of the team implementing the Maternal Newborn and Child program in Tanzania, Kangaroo Mother Care in Ethiopia. Currently, she is the Principle investigator of SIM 4Life(A simulation program for Uganda, Tanzania, and Nigeria). Her focus is on the implementation of programs that lead to knowledge translation and quality care.

Prof Mallewa is Professor of Paediatrics and Child Health and Paediatric Neurology in the department of Paediatrics and Child Health at the College of Medicine in Malawi. His main area of research interest is central nervous system infections in children, including the interaction between viruses and plasmodium malaria in causing severe disease and neurodisability. Prof Mallewa is the Principal of the University of Malawi’s College of Medicine in Malawi.He is also currently the Chair of the University of Malawi-wide COVID-19 response team. He is also the Chairperson of the Malawi Immunisations Technical Advisory Group.
