He is the Co-Director of the four Foundations of Medicine Courses, the Director of the Service Learning Projects, the Director of the Newborn Nursery Clinical Rotation and the Director of the Synthesis and Transition Course at the medical school.

Dr. Jude A. OBEN is a Consultant Gastroenterologist & Hepatologist, Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital, Westminster, London. Professor Associate in Experimental Hepatology, School of Life Course and Population Sciences, Faculty of Life Sciences and Medicine, King’s College London. Dr. Oben, the Physician Scientist, holds a Consultant appointment in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Guy’s & St Thomas’ Hospital, London; is an Associate Professor in Experimental Hepatology, in the Faculty of Life Sciences and Medicine, King’s College London. He was until recently an Associate Professor in Hepatology, at University College London. Dr. Oben has a Ph.D. in Pharmacology from University College London. He studied medicine at Oxford University (St John’s College), with a stint at Stanford University, Palo Alto, USA, as a research fellow in Immunology. After Oxford, initial post-graduate medical training was at the Royal Post-Graduate Medical School, Imperial College London, after which he commenced specialist training in Ophthalmology which he changed to specialize in Hepatology. During his specialist registrar training in Hepatology and Gastroenterology, he re-orientated his research career with 2 years as a Post-Doctoral Fellow at Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, USA. Dr. Oben’s work at Johns Hopkins combined his previous interest in neuroscience with liver medicine and he discovered that the autonomic nervous system regulates liver repair through actions on liver progenitor stem cells and liver stellate cells, in the context of obesity-induced liver disease (Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease, NAFLD). On the back of a very productive period at Johns Hopkins, he was awarded a Wellcome Trust Intermediate Fellowship funding on returning to London. Research interests: Obesity; Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD); Autonomic nervous system regulation of liver repair; Trans-generational transmission of obesity and NAFLD.

'After graduating from college with distinction in Advanced Art and Design in 1998, and Model Design at Hertfordshire University in 2001, Richard began work as a freelance visual effects artist making work for Lamborghini, BBC and the RAF, and later making models for two blockbuster films at Elstree and Pinewood Film studios. In 2003, he started work as a Prototype Engineer prior to taking a position at Nottingham Trent University as a Senior Technician for the school of Art and Design. While working full-time, he completed a post-grad degree in Higher education in 2007 and was made a fellow at the Higher Education Academy. In 2014, he completed his master’s degree in science with distinction and moved into research full-time, as Research Fellow, beginning his PhD the following year. In 2016, Richard established the Flexural Composites Research Laboratory in the School of Art and Design, leading on several bio-emulation projects for the Royal Centre for Defence Medicine and the NHS. In 2017, he received a fellowship with the Royal Society of the Arts and the ‘Transforming Surgical Education’ award from the Royal College of Surgeons the same year. Since 2018, Richard has been a Senior Research Fellow, he has authored seven peer reviewed journal papers and an educational website, holds three patents, one licence deal and has appeared on international magazine covers, newspapers and on TV and radio. He has lectured at over twenty public venues around the world, has exhibited his work at the Design Museum and the Saatchi gallery, in London, and has recently co-authored a book entitled Medical Modelling for release in autumn 2023.'

Assistant Professor Dr. Sinéad Edana Ramjit (MB,BCh(Hons), BAO, MCh (Dist), PGDipEd, MRCS) was born and raised in the Caribbean islands of Trinidad & Tobago. In 2009 she was the recipient of the prestigious U.W.I Open Scholarship and after also being awarded an Open National Scholarship, moved to The Republic of Ireland in 2010 to pursue Medicine at Trinity College Dublin where she graduated with Honours. Ms. Ramjit then went on to complete numerous post-graduate degrees in the fields of Surgery and Medical Education and is currently a Clinical Lecturer & Registrar at St. James' Hospital in Dublin. As a Surgical Trainee with an avid interest in Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery Ms. Ramjit has produced award-winning original research in the fields of Minimally Invasive Surgery and Oesophageal Cancer. She conducts research at the national centre of excellence in Ireland - The Trinity St James’s Cancer Institute (TSJCI) where she works with a dynamic team to help transform cancer care in Ireland by combining world-class science with excellent patient care to pioneer new ways of preventing, detecting and treating cancer.
Ms. Noha Shaheen is A nurse assistant with excellent experience in working with nurses and doctors, following the necessary instructions, accompanying the patient, and providing him with all the necessary health care. She worked as a Nurse from 2015-2017 in Aleppo University Hospital and she worked as an Ambulance nurse from 2017-2022 in Tishreen University Hospital.
