Michel Bourin has held the position of Professor of Pharmacology at the University of Nantes since 1985. After completing his pharmacist and medical training at Tours University he was awarded degrees in neuropsychopharmacology, clinical pharmacology, and general pharmacology in Paris and completed his psychiatric training in Nantes. Dr. Mastinu completed his Ph.D. in 2014 from the University of Cagliari. He is now a researcher at the University of Brescia as a pharmaceutical botanist. The main topic of his research was the phytochemical characterization of secondary metabolites from plants. In particular, he studies ecological, abiotic, and biotic strategies to increase the production of secondary plant metabolites. Furthermore, he evaluates the potential biological activities in multiple in-vitro models including the cannabinoid system. Dr. Mastinu published more than 50 publications in indexed and international journals with h-index of 24 Now, Dr. Mastinu is the principal investigator for several projects “Modulation of abiotic stress in plants”; “Characterization new bioactive cannabimimetic natural entities” and “Phytochemical characterization of cannabinoids from Cannabis sativa”.
