Dr. Frederick J. Goldstein, PhD, Fellow in Clinical Pharmacology, is a medical scientist, Professor of Clinical Pharmacology,and Coordinator of Pharmacology at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM). He is on the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners, is a member of several national and international clinical pharmacology and pain societies, serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Opioid Management, and reviews submissions for this publication and the Journal of Osteopathic Medicine. He has many publications, and also received grants for human studies, including one from the AOA to improve post-operative analgesia following total abdominal hysterectomy; this research demonstrated that a combination of pre-emptive morphine plus post-surgical osteopathic manipulative treatment improved pain relief in the post-surgical period. Dr. Goldstein also participated in the published patient-monitoring study, “Telemedicine-Based Intervention Reduced the Frequency and Severity of COPD Exacerbation Symptoms.” He currently has a pilot investigation in progress designed to reduce chronic neuropathic pain using dronabinol (delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol; THC).Preliminary results to date show successfulimprovement in analgesia in many study subjects. He is expanding this specific clinical research with a multi-year grantfrom a medical marijuana company in Pennsylvania. Dr. Goldstein is a member of Compassion and Choices, a national organization that advocates the right-to-diefor patients meeting certain conditions.
Md Nazmul Huda is a creative and enthusiastic research scientist experience in biochemistry, molecular biology, and cancer research. In his research life, he led several projects in university, hospital, research institute, and biotech R&D Company. Nowadays, he is doing his research activities on breast cancer, mainly focusing on Brk degrading PROTAC, and Fam60a. He has established patient-derived gastric organoids in his previous laboratory. He is experienced to identify the cellular targets of Helicobacter pylori and Neisseria flava bacteria isolated from gastric juice responsible for the disease, as well as study the role of these targets in gastric disease biology. He was actively involved working on the activity of protein androgen receptors in the development and treatment of prostate cancer, as well as Rab27 protein in the development and treatment of bladder cancer, and engaged in novel biochemical and molecular biological approach using clinical/biological samples like urine, blood, and tissue of cancer patients. He developed novel approach to measuring phosphorylation levels of protein titled as assay for phosphorylation and microtubule binding along with localization of tau protein in colorectal cancer cell. He is experienced working on hepatic stellate cell isolation from mouse, do further experiments using isolated stellate cells with cancer cells. He has also established different biochemical assays in skin cells. Dr. Huda has experience in molecular biology techniques, especially western blot, ELISA, mammalian cell culture, cell cytometry analysis, confocal microscopy, cell cytotoxicity, qRT-PCR, FACS, nucleic acid or protein-based technologies, mouse handling, NGS and related applications and so on. In addition, he has several scientific papers published in different internationally recognized journals and book chapter. Dr. Huda is also involved as a lab administrator on project planning, budgeting, updating project outcomes, and received funding. Dr. Huda always utilizing knowledge and experience at his level best to discover sustainable technologies for the welfare of human beings. Dr. Huda is active member of several scientific organizations [The European Association for Cancer Research, United Kingdom; National Science and Technology Information Service (NTIS), Korea; The Organoid Society, South Korea; Korean Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (KSBMB), Korea; Global Network of Bangladeshi Biotechnologist (GNOBB) etc.] He organized different symposiums and seminars for several years in South Korea. He also served voluntary service as International Researcher Representative of Korea University of Science and Technology (2013-2017), KIST, Korea.
Professor Ari Zimran was the Founder and the Director of the Gaucher Unit at Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem, Israel from 1990 to 2018, and is currently a senior physician at the Unit. This is the world’s largest referral centre for Gaucher disease (GD), where more than 850 patients have been followed, and about 350 patients are treated with enzyme replacement therapy. Professor Zimran has published more than 320 professional papers and reviews and has edited three books; he has been a leader in clinical trials for new treatments for GD, including Cerezyme™, Zavesca™, VPRIV™, Elelyso™ and Cerdelga™. Professor Zimran was the first to report the possible association between GD and Parkinson disease (PD), and his current research activities include prodromal features of PD (with the ultimate goal of prevention) among GBA carriers, gene therapy and oral delivery of recombinant human proteins.
Dr. Athar Ansari after completing the Doctor of Medicine course in Community Medicine in 1998, I joined the faculty in the Department of Community Medicine, J.N. Medical College in 1999. I have been awarded a Ph.D. in Community Medicine in 2016. I have been teaching undergraduate and postgraduate medical students for last 25 years. I am also involved in the research activities directed towards nutrition especially Iodine Deficiency Disorders, HIV/AIDS, disaster management, and environmental health issues. I have got 136 papers published. I am working with high-risk groups for HIV/AIDS. I have also worked with malnourished children with support from UNICEF.
