Michele Sebag is a senior researcher at CNRS and Univ. Paris-Saclay. With a background in Maths (Ecole Normale Supérieure), she went to industry then entered the French National Center for Research (CNRS). She is head of the Machine Learning and Optimization team in the Lab of Computer Science at Université Paris-Saclay, and co-head with Marc Schoenauer of the Inria team TAU, (Tackling the Underspecified - referring to the number of under-specified issues at the core of Artificial Intelligence). Her research interests include causal modelling, reinforcement learning, and applications of machine learning for society (health, hiring, social sciences). She was elected European AI Fellow, and member of the French Academy of Technology.
Dr. Fawzi BenMessaoud has been at the forefront of educational technology and AI application for over three decades. His early work, dating back to 1984, broke ground in robotics and PLCs, utilizing embedded systems for industrial and machine learning applications. Dr. BenMessaoud's multifaceted career includes a significant stint as an intelligence analyst. This foundation equipped him to instruct intelligence courses, ultimately culminating in his selection by the FBI as a special agent. A notable achievement is his design and development of an information security systems program, which, aligning with the National Security Agency Information Assurance standards, garnered approval from the NSA's Committee on National Security Systems in 2007. His forward-thinking approach to education saw him fuse lab simulations with online platforms to offer information security courses. This innovation was recognized among the top 101 Best Practices in Integrating Technology with Higher Education in 2005 by Campus Technology magazine. His latest endeavor in AI for Education gained prominent acknowledgment in the EDUCAUSE 2022 Horizon Report and was showcased at the 2023 World AI Cannes Festival and the 2023 EDUCAUSE conference in addition to earning a SEIRI 2023 grant. Complementing these accolades, BenMessaoud has been a regular feature at global conferences, sharing insights on instructional technologies, AI, and the seamless integration of technology in education.
Dr. Haibin Zhu is a Full Professor and the Coordinator of the Computer Science Program, the Founding Director of the Collaborative Systems Laboratory, a member of the University Budget Plan committee, Arts and Science Executive Committee, Nipissing University, Canada. He is also an affiliate professor of Concordia Univ. and an adjunct professor of Laurentian Univ., Canada. He received a BSc degree in computer engineering from the Institute of Engineering and Technology, China (1983), and MSc (1988) and PhD (1997) degrees in computer science from the National Univ. of Defense Tech. (NUDT), China. He was the chair of the Department of Computer Science and Mathematics, Nipissing University, Canada (2019-2021), a visiting professor and a special lecturer in the College of Computing Sciences, New Jersey Institute of Technology, USA (1999-2002) and a lecturer, an associate professor and a full professor at NUDT (1988-2000). He has accomplished (published or in press) over 230 research works including 40 IEEE Transactions articles, six books, five book chapters, four journal issues, and four conference proceedings. He is a fellow of I2CICC (International Institute of Cognitive Informatics and Cognitive Computing), a senior member of ACM, a senior member of IEEE, a full member of Sigma Xi, and a life member of CAST-USA (Chinese Association of Science and Technology, USA). Dr. Venu Govindaraju, SUNY Distinguished Professor of Computer Science and Engineering, is the founding director of the Center for Unified Biometrics and Sensors. He received his Bachelor’s degree with honors from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in 1986, and his Ph.D. from UB in 1992. His research focus is on machine learning and pattern recognition in the domains of Document Image Analysis and Biometrics. Dr. Govindaraju has co-authored about 400 refereed scientific papers. His seminal work in handwriting recognition was at the core of the first handwritten address interpretation system used by the US Postal Service. He was also the prime technical lead responsible for technology transfer to the Postal Services in US, Australia, and UK. He has been a Principal or Co-Investigator of sponsored projects funded for about 65 million dollars. Dr. Govindaraju has supervised the dissertations of 35 doctoral students. He has served on the editorial boards of premier journals such as the IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence and is currently the Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Biometrics Council Compendium.

Kenji Suzuki, Ph.D. (Nagoya University) worked at Hitachi Medical Corp, Aichi Prefectural University, Japan, as a faculty member, in Department of Radiology, University of Chicago, as Assistant Professor, and Medical Imaging Research Center, Illinois Institute of Technology, as Associate Professor (Tenured). He is currently a Professor (Tenured) &Founding Director of Biomedical Artificial Intelligence Research Unit,Institute of Innovative Research, Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan. He published more than 390 papers (including 120 peer-reviewed journal papers). He has been actively researching on deep learning in medical imaging and AI-aided diagnosis in the past 25 years, especially his early deep-learning model was proposed in 1994. He is inventor on 37 patents (including ones of earliest deep-learning patents), which were licensed to several companies and commercialized.He published 15 books and edited 16 journal special issues. Dr Guandong Xu is a Professor in the School of Computer Science and Data Science Institute at UTS and an award-winning researcher working in the fields of data mining, machine learning, social computing and other associated fields. Guandong is the Director of the UTS-Providence Smart Future Research Centre, which targets research and innovation in disruptive technology to drive sustainability. His research has attracted funding of more than $8 million from the ARC, government and industry.
