Energy Engineering and Power Technology is the application of the methods of the natural and technological sciences to matters of energy and technology development. The International Conference and Expo on Energy Engineering and Power Technology (Energy Engineering-2021) organized by PAGES Conferences is scheduled to be held from September 13-15, 2021 in Brussels, Belgium and aims to bring recent developments that have occurred in the field of energy engineering and power technology to the forefront to understand research and development happening at international level. It is organized around the theme to promote and enhance the stature of Energy Engineering and Power Technology.

Professor Yamauchi focuses on the design of novel nanocrystals and nanoporous materials toward various applications including batteries, fuel cells, solar cells, chemical sensors, field emitters, and photonic devices. Specifically, nanoporous metals can be produced through surfactant-based synthesis assisted by electrochemical methods. Owing to their metallic frameworks, nanoporous metals possess high electroconductivity and high surface areas, holding promise for a wide range of electrochemical applications. Furthermore, he has developed several approaches towards controlling the orientation of tubular nanochannels. The controlling the geometry of nanochannels at a macroscopic-scale is important for innovative applications such as chemical devices and electrodes with enhanced diffusions of guest species. Professor Yusuke Yamauchi received his Bachelor degree (2003), Master degree (2004), and Ph.D. (2007) from the Waseda University, Japan. After receiving his Ph.D., he joined the National Institute of Materials Science (NIMS), Japan, to start his own research group. At the same time, he started to serve as a professor to supervise PhD students at Waseda University. He led a team of more than 40 members including senior scientists, postdocs, technical staffs, and PhD students. After being granted the ARC Future Fellowship, in May 2016, he joined the Institute for Superconducting & Electronic Materials (ISEM), Australian Institute for Innovative Materials (AIIM), The University of Wollongong (UOW) as a full professor. In 2017, he moved to The University of Queensland (UQ). Presently, he is a senior group leader at AIBN and a full professor at School of Chemical Engineering. He concurrently serves as an honorary group leader at NIMS, a visiting/adjunct/honorary professor at over 50 universities in the world (UOW, Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Tianjin University, NanJing Tech University, Qingdao University of Science and Technology, Kyung Hee University, National Taiwan University, King Saud University, King Abdulaziz University, and Waseda University, etc), and an associate editor of the Journal of Materials Chemistry A published by the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC). Mohammad Syuhaimi Ab-Rahman began his career at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), in mid-2007 as a lecturer and appointed as a senior lecturer in early 2008. His specialization is in the field of electronic engineering specifically in the optical communication system. Prof Josua Meyer, was in 2002, appointed at the University of Pretoria as a professor, and Head of Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering, and in 2004. He is a member or fellow of various professional institutes and societies such as ASME, ASHRAE, AIAA, and the Royal Aeronautical Society. He is registered as a professional engineer by the Engineering Council of South Africa. He is leading the Clean Energy Research unit that he established with a broad focus on thermal sciences and fluid flow, but with a narrower focus on heat exchangers. His heat exchanger work focused on fundamental work of flow in the transitional flow regime, mixed convection, nanofluids, boiling, and condensation. On an application level his work focus on the thermal-solar-, wind- and nuclear energy. He has grown this research group to approximately 30 full-time graduate students and 10 staff members. During this time he also established various labs with state-of-the-art instrumentation and designed and constructed (with his group members) more than 12 unique experimental set-ups. He has received 11different national teaching awards from three different universities, as well as an international award, in 2013, for “Best professor in mechanical and aeronautical engineering”.He has won more than 45 research awards including 25 awards for best article of the year or best conference paper. Zita Vale works in the area of Power and Energy Systems, with a special interest in the application of Artificial Intelligence techniques. She has been involved in more than 60 funded projects related to the development and use of Knowledge-Based systems, Multi-Agent systems, Genetic Algorithms, Neural networks, Particle Swarm Intelligence, Constraint Logic Programming, and Data Mining. The main application fields of these projects comprise: - Smart Grids, accommodating an intensive use of Renewable Energy Sources, Distributed Energy Resources (DER), and Distributed Generation (DG). Hasan Kürüm was born in Elazığ, Turkey, in 1957. He graduated from high school and university in Elazığ. He became a Certified Engineer (1984), an Electrical and Electronics Doctor (1990), Associate Professor (1997), and Professor (2003). He also worked as a Chief of Data Processing Center (1997-2000 and 2004-2006) and Founder Member and Chief of Informatics Department at Fırat University (1990-2000 and 2002-2006). He designed the Infrastructure of Computer Data Processing and Computer networks. He worked as the Dean of Communication Faculty between 2006 and 2009. He completed Fırat TV (Fırat University Television)'s new digital communications infrastructure and edited Radio Fırat. He was assigned as Founder Dean at TunceliMunzur University/Department of Engineering Faculty which was established in 2009. Currently, he is working at Fırat University Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department. His research activities are focused on the Design and Control of Electrical Machines, Power Electronics, Power systems and protection, Measurement, Electromagnetic Fields, Communication and Information Technologies, Electric Vehicles, Safe Driving, Image processing, Chaos in motor drives.

Dr. L. M. Das retired as a Professor from IIT Delhi. He holds a Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering from IIT, Delhi Dr. Das has got a teaching/research experience of more than forty-four years to his credit. His areas of research interest center around the development of alternative-fuelled low emission engines/vehicles. He has supervised 34 Ph.D. theses and seventy-seven Master of Technology (M. Tech) Projects. He has published more than a hundred research papers in various international/national journals. He had several international research assignments in the USA, France, England, and Portugal. He had delivered invited lectures in India as well as in the USA, Canada, England, France, Germany, Japan, Switzerland, Australia, Belgium Netherlands Thailand Moscow, Turkey, Philippines, Nepal, and Srilanka He has been a member of several research/technical and scientific advisory committees of the Department of Science and Technology, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Indian Institute of Petroleum, Indian Council of Agricultural Research, Department of Biotechnology, Indian Oil Research Lab, etc. He was a Member of the Core group of Automotive Research,(CAR)and also a member of the Expert Committee for Auto-Fuel Vision and Policy 2025. He was the Convener of the Technical Committee of the World Hydrogen Technology Convention held in August 2009 in New Delhi. Presently he is also the Chairman of Sectional Committee of PCD 3 of Bureau of Indian Standards Prof Das had been the Principal investigator of several sponsored projects funded by MNRE, DST, General Motors (USA), European Union, UNIDO, Shell (England). He was the Principal Investigator of the UNIDO-sponsored academia-industry project consisting of IIT-Delhi, Mahindra, and Mahindra and Air products(USA) in which the world’s first hydrogen-operated three-wheeler was launched in Pragati Maidan, New Delhi in 2012. The ongoing phase of the project with extensive long-term field trials is being funded by MNRE. Prof Das is also now coordinating another MNRE- sponsored project with Mahindra and Mahindra in which a hydrogen-fuelled Minibus engine, after extensive lab tests, has been developed and the Minibus is being field-tested. He has been awarded “Rajiv Gandhi Samman” by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of Orissa (2005).In 2012, he has been awarded the Lockheed Martin Award for his R&D achievements. International Association of Hydrogen Energy has given him the ‘Outstanding Service Award” for his “Altruistic Contribution” to the “cause of Hydrogen Economy”. He has also been awarded the T.N. Veziroglu award by the Hydrogen Association of India (2013) and the Biju Patnaik award by Odisha Science Academy for scientific excellence “in recognition of his original and creative contribution”( 2014)
Dr. Farooq Sher is a Lecturer in the School of Mechanical, Aerospace, and Automotive Engineering at Coventry University, UK. His undergraduate degree was in Chemical Engineering, followed by MSc Chemical Engineering from the University of Leeds UK. He was awarded Ph.D. in Chemical and Environmental Engineering from the University of Nottingham UK. Dr. Sher is also president of the International Society of Science Engineering and Technology. Dr. Sher is working towards renewable energy fuels, advanced wastewater treatment, green synthesis, novel electrodes for hydrogen gas production, and low carbon technologies. Dr. Sher has published several research papers, book chapters, and editorials apart from this he is the editor of different international scientific journals. He has reviewed hundreds of research papers for several high-impact journals. Dr. Sher has been awarded a top reviewer for Engineering in 2018 and 2019 from Publons Academy. Dr. Sher is a member of departmental and faculty committees. Externally, he is an associate member of the Institute of Chemical Engineers (IChemE), senior member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE), and professional engineer member of Engineers Australia (IEAust). Dr. Sher is also interested in various forms of community work both within the University and outside such as the British Red Cross, where he is a refugee support worker, a school governor, and a STEM Ambassador for youngsters to value them in their lives and careers.

Yunjian Xu received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in electrical engineering from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, in 2006 and 2008, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Cambridge, MA, USA, in 2012. Dr. Xu was a CMI (Center for the Mathematics of Information) postdoctoral fellow at the California Institute of Technology, Pasadena, CA, USA, in 2012-2013. He joined the Singapore University of Technology and Design, Singapore, as an assistant professor in 2013. His research interests focus on energy systems and markets, with emphasis on power system optimization, wholesale electricity market design, and the scheduling and pricing of distributed energy resources in power distribution networks.

Dr. Beemkumar was born in Kanchipuram, India, in 1983. He received the B.E. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Coimbatore Institute of Technology (CIT), Coimbatore, India, in 2004, and the M.E, Energy Engineering from the College of Engineering Guindy (CEG), Chennai, India. He received a Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering for innovative research in the solar thermal energy storage field from Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai, India, in 2018. He has more than 14 years of teaching experience at various levels and he presently working as an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Jain (Deemed-to-be University), Bengaluru, India. He published more than 60 research articles in various WoS (SCI) and Scopus indexed Journals with a cumulative impact factor of 60 (As per SCI, Clarivate Analytics) and published 3 books. He received many awards for his outstanding contribution in the research. His current research interests include Thermal energy storage with nano-encapsulated PCM for Building application, methods to reduce NOx emission in bio-fuelled CI engine and solar-powered refrigeration systems. .
Hameedullah Zaheb is born in Kulangar Village in the Central District of Logar province in a middle-class family. His preliminary schooling was done in Kulangar Jahadi High School of Logar province and Shahe Do Shamshira High school of Kabul province and he has completed his high school from Mahmood Hotaki High School of Kabul province with a grading of 98.7%.
