Luxembourg City is the capital city of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and the country's most populous commune. Country is situated in north-western Europe. One of the world's smallest countries, it is bordered by Belgium on the west and north, France on the south, and Germany on the northeast and east.

It is a developed country, with an advanced economy and one of the world's highest GDP (PPP) per capita. The City of Luxembourg with its old quarters and fortifications was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1994 due to the exceptional preservation of the vast fortifications and the old city.

It is the second richest country in the world. The high figure is partly due to the large number of people working in the tiny landlocked nation while living in surrounding France, Germany and Belgium. As the richest country in the world, Luxembourg to be a wildly expensive place, but it really isn't. Sure, it's not cheap, but as a tourist it's no worse than places like New York, London or Paris.
