Prof. Dr. Michel Gendreau is a Professor of Operations Research in the Department of Mathematics and Industrial Engineering of Polytechnique Montréal (Canada). His main research area is the application of operations research methods to a wide range of problem areas: transportation and logistics systems planning and operation, energy production and storage, healthcare, and telecommunications. Dr. Gendreau has published more than 350 papers in peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings. He is also the co-editor of eight books dealing with transportation planning and scheduling, as well as with metaheuristics. Dr. Gendreau was the Director of the Centre for Research on Transportation (formerly CRT and now CIRRELT) from 1999 to 2007. He was Editor in chief of Transportation Sciencefrom 2009 to 2014. In 2001, he received the Merit Award of the Canadian Operational Research Society in recognition of his contributions to the development of O.R. in Canada. He was elected a Fellow of INFORMS in 2010. In 2015, Dr. Gendreau received the prestigious Robert Herman Lifetime Achievement Award of the Transportation Science & Logistics Society of INFORMS.

Prof. Ramakrishnan Ramanathan is the Director of Business and Management Research Institute, in the Business School of the University of Bedfordshire, Luton, UK. In the past, he has worked and taught in a number of countries, including the UK, Finland, the Netherlands, Oman and India. He has taught basic and advanced courses on Operations Management, Production Systems Management, Supply Chain Management, Optimization Theory, Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA), Management Science, Business Statistics, Simulation, Energy and Environment, Energy and Environmental Economics, Energy and Transport Economics, and others. His research interests include operations management, supply chains, the use of Big Data, Internet of Things and Blockchain technologies for productivity improvement in enterprises and also for social causes, economic and policy analysis of issues in the energy, environment, transport and other infrastructure sectors. He works extensively on modelling using techniques such as optimisation, decision analysis, data envelopment analysis and the analytic hierarchy process. He was a member of ESRC Peer Review College in the UK and reviews applications submitted to various funding bodies. In 2017 he received a degree of Professor Honoris Causa from the University of Tourism and Management Skopje, North Macedonia. During 2015 - 2017 he was professor of BioMarketing and Futures Research at the DCU Business School, Dublin City University, Ireland (the first chair in the world on both domains - BioMarketing and Futures Research). Prof. Dr. Taho Yang received the PhD degree in industrial engineering from Texas A&M University, USA, in 1996. Taho Yang is currently a professor in the Institute of Manufacturing Information and Systems at the National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan. He was formerly a project manager with Tefen Ltd, an industrial engineering and systems analysis company in California. His research interests include Lean production systems and operations management, smart manufacturing, simulation optimization and multiple criteria decision-making.

Dr. Dean L. Bartles is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Manufacturing Technology Deployment Group which includes the National Center for Defense Manufacturing and Machining. Previously, he was President of the National Tooling and Machining Association. Prior to that he designed and built the John Olson Advanced Manufacturing Center at the University of New Hampshire. Dr. Bartles was the founding Executive Director of the Digital Manufacturing and Design Innovation Institute in Chicago after working for General Dynamics Corporation for 30 years setting up and running manufacturing operations in Egypt, Turkey, and the US. He recently served as the 2016-2017 President of the North American Manufacturing Research Institute, the 2016 President of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers, and the founding Chairman of the Smart Manufacturing Leadership Coalition. Dr. Bartles graduated from Indiana State University earning a Ph. D. in Technology Management with a concentration in Manufacturing Systems.

Prof. Chuanhai Chen works as a director assistant of the Key Laboratory of CNC Equipment Reliability, Ministry of Education, and a deputy director of the Key Laboratory of CNC Equipment Reliability Technology. He was a lecture in 2013, and associate professor in 2016. Since 2020, he has been a professor in Jilin University. His research interests include reliability testing, reliability evaluation and maintenance optimization for complex electromechanical equipment. He was responsible for more than 20 national, provincial and enterprise projects such as the National Natural Science Foundation of China, National Science and Technology Major Project of China. The sum of research funding is nearly 18 million yuan. He has applied for 36 invention patents and received 8 authorizations of them. Many invention patents were transformed into products, which are key assets for the Key Laboratory of CNC Equipment Reliability, Ministry of Education, Jilin University. Furthermore, he drew up 37 standards about the reliability design and test of machine tools, including 2 industry standards and 10 enterprise standards. 52 research articles have been published, including 42 papers, and one paper was awarded the “FrontRunner 5000 Top Articles in Outstanding S&T Journal of China”. Besides, he registered 28 software copyrights and 8 of them is first-authored.His research has been widely applied to many enterprises, such as Shenyang Machine Tool, Beijing Beiyi Machine Tool, Wuhan Heavy Machine Tool, and Changchun Second Machine Tool, and so on. These applications have generated huge economic and social benefits.

Prof. Dr. Michael Engler joined the University of Furtwangen, Germany, as an ordinary professor in 2019, where he works at the faculty of Business Administration and Engineering. His work emphasizes on industrial automation, sensors, and algorithmic solutions. After studying microsystems engineering and mathematics at the University of Freiburg (Germany), he wrote his Ph.D. of engineering at the institute of microsystems engineering(Imtech) in Freiburg in 2006. Then he worked for nearly three years at Continental AG as an optics designer for automotive head-up displays. From 2008 to 2019, he was a research engineer and project leader for SICK AG, developing distance sensors and laser scanners for industrialapplications. Michael holds 12 patents and has developed several new methods for designing and testing in industrial sensors, including methods approaching new safety solutions.
