Polymer Science is a branch of science which is concerned with the nature and properties of chemical compounds. Prof. Dr. Ilaria Cacciotti is Professor of Biomaterials & Tissue Engineering and Materials Science and Technology at the University of Rome "Niccolò Cusano", with consolidated expertise in the synthesis and characterization of (bio)materials and eco-sustainable systems. She is a Member of the Research and Projects Committee and Erasmus+ Coordinator for the Engineering Area. She graduated in Medical Engineering at the University of Rome “Tor Vergata” (Master of Science Award ‘Fondazione Raeli’). Afterward, she completed the Ph.D. in Materials Engineering (Ph.D. Thesis Award ‘Marco Ramoni 2011, Ph.D. Thesis AIMAT Award 2012) and she obtained the II Level Master degrees in “Forensic Genetics” and in "Protection against CBRNe events". She is an expert in the synthesis, processing, and characterization of biocompatible nanostructured materials, particularly for applications in the biomedical, environmental, and agri-food sectors, including bioceramics (undoped and doped calcium phosphates, bioactive glasses), biopolymers, and composites. Alexander L. Kalamkarov is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the Dalhousie University in Halifax, Canada since 1993, and Director of Smart Materials Centre since 1995. He was awarded a Ph.D. degree from the Moscow Lomonosov State University in 1979 and the Doctor of Sciences (Habilitation) from the Academy of Sciences of the USSR in 1990. His academic career spans over 42 years in Research and University teaching. He has taught in Universities in the USA, England, France, Australia, Japan, Brazil and visited numerous Universities and Research Institutes around the world. Prof. Kalamkarov is awarded the CADCAM Gold Medal for the “outstanding contribution in the area of Applied Mechanics” in 2011. He is awarded the Fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) in 2002; the Fellow of the Canadian Society for Mechanical Engineering (CSME) in 2001; and the Fellow of the Japan Society for Promotion of Science (JSPS) in 2007. Prof. Kalamkarov is a Member of numerous prestigious International Editorial and Advisory Boards and the International Conference Organizing Committees in the area of advanced composite materials and smart structures. Research performed by Prof. Kalamkarov in the areas of advanced composite materials and smart materials and structures is internationally recognized. Prof. Jianyong Ouyang’sresearch interests cover conducting polymers, thermoelectric polymers, polymer nanocomposites, polymer light-emitting diodes, polymer solar cells and polymer/nanoparticle memristors. His lab invented many methods to enhance the conductivity of PEDOT:PSS that is the most successful conducting polymer in terms of practical application and demonstrated world-record conductivities of PEDOT:PSS through acid treatment. They also invented original approaches to enhance the thermoelectric properties of polymers and reported world-record thermoelectric properties of polymers. He is also one of the main inventors for the first polymer/nanoparticle memristors in the world. Recently, his lab reported the first stretchable and self-adhesive conducting polymer blends in the world and demonstrated their application as conformal dry electrodes for continuous long-term biopotential monitoring. They also invented the first hybrid ionic/electronic thermoelectric converters (HTECs) that marks the adventure of hybrid ionic/electronic thermoelectrics. He has published more than 190 papers in international journals. His total citation is >19100 in terms of Google Scholar, averagely almost 100 citations/paper, and his H-index is 67.

Tatsuo Kaneko received a B.S. in Tokyo Tech in 1993, and a Ph.D. in Polymer Chemistry from the same university in 1998. One year before received their Ph.D., he joined the faculty as an Assis Prof in the Department of Biology at Hokkaido Univ (1998-2001) and moved to Kagoshima Univ (2001-2004) and Osaka Univ (2004-2006). After that, he joined the School of Materials Science at JAIST where he was promoted to Assoc Prof in 2006 and to Full Prof in 2016. He also joined the Bioengineering Department at UCLA as a Visiting Associate Prof in 2012. Current research interests include gels, soft matters, polyelectrolytes, and biodegradable plastics, based on which 220 papers in high-impact journals such as Nature Materials were published. He has received international prizes such as “Best presentation” at the 251st ACS National Meeting, “Distinguished Award” at the 12th IUPAC NMS-XII, and “Gottfried Wagener prize” The 9th German Innovation Award have also been given.

Vakhtang Barbakadze has expertise in isolation and structure elucidation of a new series of plant polythers, which is endowed with pharmacological properties as immunomodulatory, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, wound-healing, and anti-cancer agents. Besides, he interested in enantioselective synthesis and biological activities of a basic monomeric moiety of these polyethers, synthesis of enantiomerically pure epoxides as chiral building blocks for the production of synthetic analogs of natural polyethers by chemical and enzymatic catalysis. He has received a Ph.D. degree in Chemistry and a DSci degree in Biology in 1978 and 1999 from the Institute of Organic Chemistry, Moscow, Russia, and the Institute of Biochemistry and Biotechnology, Tbilisi, Georgia, respectively. He is Head of the Department of Plant Biopolymers and Chemical Modification of Natural Compounds at Tbilisi State Medical University I.Kutateladze Institute of Pharmacochemistry. In 1996 and 2002 he has been a visiting scientist at Utrecht University, Departments of Pharmacognosy and Medicinal Chemistry, Utrecht, The Netherlands, by University Scholarship and The Netherlands organization for scientific research (NWO) Scholarship Scientific Program, respectively. He is also an organizing committee member and renowned speaker for many reputed scientific conferences. He has published more than 100 papers in reputed journals. In 2004 he was a Georgian State Prize Winner in Science and Technology.

I am a Chartered Professional Engineer with the Institute of Mechanical Engineering, UK (CEng MIMechE) since 2012 and a Fellow (FHEA) of the Higher Education Academy, UK and the Institute of Materials Malaysia (IMM). I have been working as a faculty member in the Department of Mechanical Eng., Curtin University, Malaysia since October 2008. After completion of MSc (Manufacturing Technology), I had been teaching in KPYP Malaysia (Franchised with Liverpool John Moores University, UK, 1997-1998) and subsequently BEng (Hons.), Mechanical Engineering Program in Linton College, Malaysia (Franchised with The Nottingham Trent University, UK) where I served as the BEng Final Year Project Coordinator (2001-2002) and Mechanical Engineering Course Leader (2003~2006). She is presently being an Associate professor at solar energy Research Institute, a center of excellence for the research and development in solar energy technology, National University of Malaysia (UKM). She has been involved in the field of materials science for more than 18 years. Her main contributions are in the synthesis of nanomaterials, composites, and investigation of their application; photocatalysts; inorganic polymers (geopolymers); Materials related to a renewable energy application, and using agricultural and industrial wastes as a resource. She has published more than 90 research papers in journals and conferences.
I am Dr. A. Chithambar Ganesh from Chennai. I have been awarded a doctorate of philosophy in civil engineering for investigating the behavior of hybrid fiber reinforced geopolymer concrete and inventing the self-healing paver blocks for very heavy traffic conditions. This was appreciated and found its place in The New Indian Express dated 21.02.2020. I have completed my post-graduation in M, Tech. Structural Engineering from Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore and Under graduation in B.E. Civil Engineering from Mepco Schlenk Engineering College, Sivakasi. I have six years of experience in research and academics at the Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Education. An ideal faculty job has three facets – Research and consultancy activities, Administrative support activities, and academic and student mentoring duties. From the research perspective, I have been awarded the Young Scientist Award by the International Scientist Awards on Engineering, Science, and Medicine. I have completed one TNSCST Project under the title UTILIZATION OF INDUSTRIAL WASTE IN THE PRODUCTION OF ENERGY EFFICIENT BRICKS in 2020. One of my research proposal worth 23,07,000/-under the scheme “RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT (R&D) FOR CONSERVATION AND DEVELOPMENT” in MOEF&CC is under revision stage. I have a citation of 58 citations with h-index 5 and i-index-1. I have published 32 papers in various reputed international journals out of which 17 are indexed in Scopus and 2 are indexed in SCI with a total impact factor of 9.2. I have presented 13 papers at various International Conferences pertaining to my research areas. I have also completed consultancy works such as Safe Bearing Capacity test, Hardness test, Material Properties test, Approval Plan, Quality Check Compressive strength test worth more than seventy-five thousand rupees. In the administrative supportive activities, I actively coordinated the preparation of various criteria during NBA, ABET, and NAAC and helped to fetch the same for the University. I have been awarded as an active member during the coordination of NBA activities. I have been acting as class coordinator, faculty advisor, cell PD for academics, and center for learning technology. Apart from conventional activates, I have organized 1 International Conference and 1 National Conference, 3 Faculty Development Programs, 1 AICTE sponsored STTP program, 7 workshops,s and seminars, and 5 guest lectures. I have prepared Departmental Newsletter and Magazine every semester. From an academic perspective, I have handled and would like to claim proficiency over the undergraduate courses such as Concrete technology, Design of Concrete Structures, Design of Steel Structures and postgraduate courses such as Advanced Design of Concrete Structures, Design of Tall Buildings, Advanced Steel Structures, Design of Bridges. I like to keep myself updated on the current upgrades over the courses and bring them to the focus of students. I have attended 39 workshop and faculty development programs in the last five years to keep myself updated on the current trends.
